The European Space Agency (Technical and Quality Management Directorate and Concurrent Design Facility) in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart and DLR, is organising the 6th International Systems & Concurrent Engineering for Space Applications Conference at the Institute of Space Systems (IRS), on 8-9-10 October 2014.
Since 2004, this Conference is held every 2 years to provide agencies, companies, organizations, universities and institutes involved in space a forum of excellence in the area of Systems and Concurrent Engineering (SE&CE).
The 2004 and 2006 Concurrent Engineering Workshops (CEW) were held at ESTEC focussing on the novelties of the first Concurrent Engineering design centres, methodology and applications.
In 2008 the Workshop objectives were extended to the broad field of Systems Engineering (SE), becoming SECESA: “Systems Engineering and Concurrent Engineering for Space Applications”.
Each SECESA event is hosted at a European University premises, and co-organised by a selected academia.
The conference accomplishes the educational objectives of the Agency, inspiring young generations of engineers with new methodology and approaches for Systems Engineering by facilitating their participation to the technical sessions.
SECESA 2010 was hosted by the EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland), and SECESA 2012 was held in Lisbon (Portugal), at the Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST). The fifth edition of SECESA included the NASA-ESA Workshop on Product Data Exchange, in a dedicated session.
